If you are looking for a puppy from a breeder, it is very important to educate yourself about health testing. Research what testing should be done on your chosen breed and how to verify if a breeder is doing those tests. For Rottweilers for example at a minimum, they should have their hips and elbows x-rayed and sent to OFA for evaluation. They should have their hearts tested by a specialist and their eyes done yearly to every other year also by a specialist. And they should have genetic testing for JLPP. 
​Burkhardt gets his eyes done yearly so he is now done until 2023! He was also a wonderful ambassador for his breed by being an awesome patient for the ophthalmologist!
