Paden graduated puppy camp today! We had to celebrate by taking his graduation photo in the same spot his dad got his taken when he graduated! This is Paden's sire, Ailean graduating on June 15th, 2016! So fun having puppies from puppies I've worked with!

Today is Marek's 6th Birthday!
We celebrated with a pumpkin cream cheese doggie cake and a birthday photo. Burkhardt went to an AKC conformation show this weekend in Chehalis, WA. On Friday the 16th he placed 3rd out of his class of 3 under Judge Richard Lewis. On Saturday the 17th he placed 1st in his class of 2 but didn't get anything in winners under Judge James Noe. On Sunday the 18th he got first in his class of 2, winners dog for a 3 point major and best of winners under Judge Luis Sosa! Because the winners bitch took opposite for a 5 point major, Burkhardt got his points upgraded to a 5 point major as well! This weekend me and Alanna took Burkhardt, Marek and Bishop up to Auburn, WA to attend the NADD Dock Diving Regionals. Burkhardt was invited for Distance and Air Retrieve, Marek was invited for Distance and Bishop was invited for Air Retrieve.
Both Burkhardt and Bishop didn't get a catch during Air Retrieve. Marek had a hard time jumping at a new dock but he did get a nice jump in during one of his splashes so I was super proud of him! And Burkhardt jumped nicely during his distance splashes earned his 5th place in his division and an invite to Nationals! Another passing eye test for Burkhardt!
If you are looking for a puppy from a breeder, it is very important to educate yourself about health testing. Research what testing should be done on your chosen breed and how to verify if a breeder is doing those tests. For Rottweilers for example at a minimum, they should have their hips and elbows x-rayed and sent to OFA for evaluation. They should have their hearts tested by a specialist and their eyes done yearly to every other year also by a specialist. And they should have genetic testing for JLPP. Burkhardt gets his eyes done yearly so he is now done until 2023! He was also a wonderful ambassador for his breed by being an awesome patient for the ophthalmologist! Today we took Burkhardt up to Washington to participate in German Shepherd Dog Club of America's Temperament Test hosted by the GSDCWS. Burkhardt did amazing and I am so grateful to be at the end of his leash. He got strong scores, and the judge had a lot of nice comments about him. So proud of my boy! Burkhardt finished his Dock Senior Excellent title today for NADD and this earned him an invite to Regionals for distance. He is already invited for Air Retrieve!
Me and Alanna took Burkhardt and Bishop up to Washington this weekend for a Search and Rescue Sport Seminar and we had a great time learning about how they are turning this in a titling sport for dogs. Me and Burkhardt headed to southern Oregon this weekend for an AKC Conformation show!
On Saturday the 18th in both shows that day he took first in his class as the only dog and took Reserve Winners Dog out of just one other dog under judges Diane Landstrom and Gary Dunlop. On Sunday the 19th first in his class as the only dog and then took Winners dog over one other dog for a point under Judge Jerry Watson! |
